Kyiv’s delegation is led by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, with President Zelenskyy not attending the conference amid a diplomatic spat with the Polish president. At the conference, Svyrydenko announced that Ukraine expects around 160 agreements and over 30 new partnerships valued at more than €10 billion. The European Union also announced on Thursday the transfer of the first installment of €3.2 billion under the Ukraine Support Loan. Ukraine used the Recovery Conference to present its defense industry as both a pillar of national security and a future driver of economic recovery. To discuss this and more, TVP World spoke with Hanna Hvozdiar, an adviser to the Ukrainian defense minister, who said that the defense sector has expanded dramatically since the start of the full-scale invasion, with production capacity growing from $1 billion in 2022 to more than $50 billion today.
