Hunt for blue-yellow colors in Russia continues

Yanina Pavlenko, the self-proclaimed mayor of the Russian-occupied city of Yalta in Crimea, has apologised for a photo zone that inadvertently featured the colours of the Ukrainian flag. Following alleged complaints, the installation was dismantled and the head of the culture department was reprimanded. Since 2022, Russian authorities have been obsessively chasing any presence of the colours blue and yellow, however accidental, on fences, playground toys, roofs, house facades, and other equally absurd locations. This practice is solid testimony to Russian confidence and a feeling of safety when facing its victim, who is also an enemy that can bite back.

I would say the choice of colours was absolutely not accidental. People living there are reminded of how Crimean cities looked like before year 2014.

And it's awesome that apparently no heads really seem to roll for putting that sign there.

I read this one as: Crimea will once be free and prosper! 💛💙
