What is the status of the “strategic partnership” between Russia and China these days? “There is no parity in this relationship, that’s for sure,” says Marcin Zaborowski, TVP World’s Europe Editor, citing the trade imbalance between the two countries and how most of Russia’s exports to China are energy resources. “It’s an asymmetric relationship in which China does not really need Russia that much, as vice versa.” Concurrently with Putin’s visit to China, Hungary’s new Prime Minister Péter Magyar made his first foreign trip to Poland, in a clear signal that he wants a reset in the relationship between Warsaw and Budapest.
