Skabeeva explains how Russia commits war crimes

A textbook example of Russian media narrative, which is a complete reversal of reality. The presenter explains that ‘the Russian army has carried out a series of precision strikes on military, energy and ammunition storage facilities in Ukraine’ (in that order, ‘energy’ facilities are listed in a single string among all the military targets), in response to ‘terrorist attacks by Ukraine during the energy ceasefire, which completely destroyed bilateral trust’. Sounds justified, eh? Except then she goes on to list a long list of targets that Russia actually attacked during the same ‘ceasefire’, namely... Ukrainian heat and power plants and residential buildings, which – as she clearly and explicitly states – are freezing and being flooded with water from destroyed central heating systems during frosts reaching -20°C. This admission is fully consistent with numerous past openly genocidal declarations made in Russian media. Of course, if you reword her monologue in chronological order, it comes across as complete nonsense and an actual admission of war crimes, but Skabeeva's narrative is carefully constructed in such a way as to present Russia as a victim and Ukraine as deservedly punished for a ‘treacherous attack’ on an emotional level. This carefully designed statement serves as a kind of compensation for Russian audience who gets a message in the line of "maybe we can't move much on the front line but at least we are making their town uninhabitable". In reality, the Russian ‘energy ceasefire’ lasted... 24 hours, and its only reason was probably the need to stockpile ammunition for the following nights. But even during this time, the Russians were not idle, as their drones attacked, among other things, a Ukrainian civilian bus carrying miners near Pavlohrad, killing 16 people.
