Poland has a thriving cosplay and fantasy festival scene, and this episode takes you inside the biggest event of the year. Thousands of cosplayers transformed Poznań into a real-life fantasy universe, with the most spectacular costumes competing in the prestigious Maskarada competition, where Poland’s finest will go on to represent the country at the Extreme Cosplay Gathering in Paris. The festival also featured an Asian culture zone with workshops in calligraphy, traditional clothing, and the tea ceremony. Back in Warsaw, the 64th edition of the Warsaw Theatre Meetings brought together French screen and stage legend Isabelle Huppert and Georgian theater director Data Tavadze in a landmark pairing. And on the Baltic Coast, Gdynia Design Days celebrates the democratic power of everyday design, including a tribute to Karol Śliwka, the graphic designer behind some of Poland’s most iconic logos.
