The attack was very well documented by both other vehicles from the UN convoy, and Russian operators themselves who initially boasted about the attack on their channels but later deleted it after a scandal broke out following UN statement. Russians described their actions as "an attack on double use vehicles", which they universally apply when attacking any civilian targets, including elderly pedestrians with dogs. The fact that they were ordered to delete their video clearly indicates that their commanders perfectly understand that what their operators have done is a war crime.
