<description>In February 2022, Poles opened their homes to Ukrainians fleeing Russia’s full-scale invasion. Four years later, relations between the two societies have become more complicated, with growing distrust, political tensions and reports of hostility. But how much of this divide comes from genuine disagreements, and how much is being amplified through information operations? In this episode of Anatomy of Disinformation, host Maia Mazurkiewicz examines how Russian influence operations exploit real social problems, fears and frustrations to turn them into broader narratives of hostility between Poles and Ukrainians. Marcin Jędrysiak, Research Fellow at the Center for Eastern Studies (OSW), explains how Russian actors can take real incidents from tensions around healthcare and migration to political disagreements and amplify them to create an “us versus them” narrative. He also discusses how similar narratives target Ukrainians, portraying Poland as increasingly hostile, and why both societies can become trapped in a cycle of mutual distrust. The episode also looks beyond social media. Bohdan Kontsur, Legalization &amp; Residence Consultant at the Ukrainian House Foundation in Warsaw, shares his experience of living in Poland since 2022 and working directly with Ukrainians adapting to life in the country. He describes how attitudes have changed, what Ukrainians experience in everyday life, and whether the growing tensions visible in the information space are reflected in their real-life relationships with Poles. Because real disagreements can exist – but they can also become the raw material for manipulation. 🔴 Watch our 24/7 livestream - https://youtube.com/live/9RY46AUtIl4 Bringing you all the latest daily news and updates, TVP World is Poland's first English-language channel where you can find world news as seen from the Polish perspective and the latest news from the CEE region.
