<description>This summer, all eyes are on Vilnius and Pulse of Culture has been there to find out why. Lithuania's capital has been showcasing its most creative and colorful side, and this episode is your guide to everything that makes Vilnius one of Europe's most surprising and rewarding summer destinations. The Pink Soup Festival brought thousands to the Lithuanian capital to celebrate Šaltibarščiai, Lithuania's beloved cold beetroot soup, including our correspondent Alex Sumlinsky, who made the journey from Warsaw on a special pink train. Then Alex took to the skies over Vilnius in a hot air balloon, one of the most iconic and distinctive ways to see a European city center anywhere on the continent. Fashion Infection 2026, one of Lithuania's most important cultural events for over two decades, returned to champion emerging designers and unconventional creative voices over established luxury brands. And the Skamba Skamba Kankliai folk music festival, one of the oldest of its kind in Europe, brought musicians, dancers and folk enthusiasts together in Vilnius with a special focus on the Kanklės, Lithuania's national instrument. Back in Warsaw, Polish basketry has just received UNESCO heritage status. The Warsaw Craft Days held at the beautiful Gawronski Villa on Aleje Ujazdowskie celebrated this milestone with an exhibition of Polish designers drawing inspiration from traditional folk craftsmanship, fresh from making waves in Milan. Pulse of Culture is a weekly English-language magazine for anyone with a connection to Poland, including tourists, the diaspora, and the simply curious. New episodes are released every Sunday.
