So it could be a bit of a double-edged sword,” said Alex Cadier, TVP World Chief International Correspondent. “The outgoing government were victims of their own success. And Swedes didn't feel like the crime problem, where the crime rates have gone down, and the immigration issue where asylum applications and acceptances have gone down as well,” Cadier said. “The problem was solved. And therefore, actually those voters decided to travel on to other parties: of the left-wing coalition.” Support for the Sweden Democrats also fell, despite their success in pushing Swedish politics to the right on issues such as crime and immigration, a shift Cadier attributed in part to the party’s rise. But “In 2022, (the Sweden Democrats) said: ‘We will support the government from outside the government.’ This time they said: ‘We want ministries.
