<title>Konstantin Malofeev: "It's not a shame to lose to Ukrainians"</title>

<description>Russian oligarch and nationalist Konstantin Malofeev stated, as if predicting the outcome of Russia's war, that "it's not a shame to lose to Ukrainians". We should all appreciate the fantastic circular logic of his discovery: he argues it's not a shame to lose to Ukraine, because "Ukrainians are the very same Russians" and "Russians never lose and never give up". Apart from typical Russian logical fallacies implying Russians are somehow "losing to themselves" this statement is founded on one incorrect assumption: that the fight between Russia and Ukraine is going over some ethnic, language or even genetic factors - but it's not. The war is about culture - on one hand, Mongol-Russian collective culture based on hierarchic oppression and concept of "sacred authority", versus Slavic individualistic society valuing personal freedom and equality. There's much more, but this factor alone is entirely sufficient to make a clear distinction between the sides fighting in Ukraine.</description>
