On 17 May 2017 president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed a decree banning a number of Russian social media networks which were notoriously used to flood Ukraine with pro-Russian propaganda, denying cover presence of Russian troops in Ukraine and blaming their entry (yes, at the same time) on Ukraine and "the West". On that occasion, Russian media aired a number of programs blaming Ukraine in "merciless censorship" and "denying citizens of Ukraine access to their relatives". Ukraine survived without Russian social networks just finek but one of such reports was just reminded by some Russian and Ukrainian channels after Russia had banned Telegram, which is actually used by millions of Russians worldwide to communicate with their families and get uncensored news.
