This comes as Kyiv confirmed that a major assault against the Russian Black Sea port city of Novorossiysk overnight Wednesday damaged four warships. Satellite imagery caught the aftermath of the attack, which reportedly saw the use of 15 Ukrainian-made weapons. Meanwhile, Russian strikes against Ukraine have killed at least nine civilians over the last day, including when a jet-powered drone struck a train locomotive in the southern Odesa region. President Zelenskyy has announced that Ukraine has liberated 745 sq km of territory in the key eastern sector of Oleksandrivka. 26 villages have been returned to Ukrainian control, with nearly 10,000 Russian soldiers killed in the area since January. However, analysis from the Institute for the Study of War has concluded that Moscow is making advances along the “fortress belt” of frontline cities in Ukraine’s Donbas region.
